The Win-Win badge

I’m a big proponent of early education, specially when it comes to teaching young girls the skills that they are so often expected to shy away from. So it’s no surprise that I was very pleased to hear that Girl Scouts can now earn a ‘Negotiation’ badge. Girls (8 to 12 years of age) learn how to reach agreements that meet the needs of all concerned while they ask for what they want and try their hand at negotiation. This information is briefly mentioned in the article I linked to on my last post, but I would not resist giving this its own space. Here’s a little video from Carnegie Mellon that sums up nicely how the badge came about.
